Carol Hufton
Carol Hufton has a solid pedigree in data protection and has held senior positions at the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); Until March 2008 she was Head of the Data Protection Practice for the private sector at the ICO and was also previously the ICO Head of Security.   
As a data protection specialist, Carol is particularly motivated by the need for data protection training. Whilst at the ICO Carol headed up the programme to produce data protection advice in simple terms for both the public and private sectors. ICO's Good Practice Notes are part of this programme. Carol was also the course director for the ICO's core data protection training (the Certificate in Data Protection run by ISEB). Previously at ICO she has extensive experience of casework, policy formulation and provision of tailored advice to organisations.   
Before working in data protection she was teacher of history and researcher. She is an honours graduate of Liverpool University and gained her postgraduate Certificate in Education from Manchester University.
